MY OLD FAIR LADY
She knew the intricacies of being an elderly maid. With unbelievable perfection she took care of her sons, grandsons and her love towards her daughters and niece were unprecedented. Her hands were always outstretched, with fingers down, she always doled out loads of love and affection at no price at all.She had learnt only to give, not to take. But then, the world was too ugly for MY OLD FAIR LADY.
She had an answer for every question,a healing touch for every wound,a bowl of water for anyone thirsty and a lump of bread for anyone hungry. From the moment she got up,she always had a task at hand and the objective of her every task was to spread happiness to each and everyone around her.But I guess, the world was too greedy for MY OLD FAIR LADY.
She took all of us in.Fulfilled all our needs and did more than she ever could. As for myself I remember, and always will, that I was one of her dearest. We were a perfect team.I was her “support stick” and she was my “wish machine”.From the days of infant care to the schooldays of morning baths, she was my caretaker,my nun,my most beloved. But then, even I was helpless and had to let go of MY OLD FAIR LADY.
She was beautiful indeed.More beautiful than todays cosmetic chics who we wow.Natural, pure, serene, her sanctity could deliver you to salvation. Heart and flesh, shone alike,a quality, rarest to be found. She was an amalgamation of perfection in all spheres of human life. But life betrayed her,put her through so much pain and alas! It was too much to bear for MY OLD FAIR LADY.
She didn’t even know her birthdate. She must be two or three short of a perfect century and that’s when she finally gave in,or rather she had to succumb to the Almighty’s will over her own will to live and nurture her family.Even though she may not be present here, even though she may be wandering in the celestial premesis of the Godly deities, she would always be watching upon us,taking care of us.This is how she she has always lived ,this is how she will always live(even after death) and this is how I shall always be grateful to MY OLD FAIR LADY.
